Why Daily Iftar Meals?

Updated: Apr 17, 2023

The impact of a single meal on those battling hunger.

For us, fasting means a day of some discomfort, with the reassurance that we’ll have a tasty meal waiting for us when Maghrib comes. For them, it’s just another day of constantly feeling hungry, with no end in sight.

Fasting during Ramadhan can be difficult, even for those of us who have access to adequate nutrition. It requires discipline, patience, and perseverance. But for those who battle hunger daily, fasting becomes especially challenging.

It’s a sad reality that 828 million people worldwide go hungry every day. After steadily declining for a decade, world hunger is on the rise, affecting more and more people globally.

Hunger is defined by the United Nations as the periods when people experience severe food insecurity - meaning that they go for entire days without eating due to lack of money, access to food, or other resources.

Imagine going through that while also trying to perform ibadah.

Throughout Ramadhan, we at Global Ehsan Relief work tirelessly to bring daily Iftar meals to those worst-affected by hunger. For them, every meal counts and can mean the difference between life and death, between sickness and health, and between hope and despair.

A single Iftar meal sponsored provides a source of sustenance for these people, and enables them to fast and participate in Ramadhan worship with ease. Though a single meal might not be much for us, for them it’s life-changing.

With 10 days left of the holy month, there are still thousands of people who need your help to ease their Ramadhan. For as little as $10, you can provide life-saving sustenance while earning endless rewards during the best 10 nights of the year.

With a single meal, you can change countless lives in the most blessed month of the year.
