This Rabiul Awwal, we remember a story close to every orphan's heart: Prophet Muhammad SAW was born after his father had already passed, and lost his mother by the age of six. He grew up an orphan himself and raised first by his grandfather, then his uncle, carried through loss by the mercy of those around him. It is precisely because he knew this pain that his teachings on caring for orphans and widows carry such weight.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah s.w.t. said:
"The best house among the Muslims is a house in which there is an orphan who is treated well. And the worst house among the Muslims is a house in which there is an orphan who is treated badly."
